Preparation.
Contacting the ship.
We would advise you to give the phone number of one or more of the sailing party to friends and family at home. In principle, passengers cannot be contacted via NAUPAR or the captain. You will receive the captain’s phone number approximately 4 weeks before departure.
On board facilities.
You can find more information about the facilities aboard the ship at www.naupar.com/shipname.
Linen.
The beds on board are always supplied with a sheet and pillow with pillowcase. You can check on www.naupar.com/shipname whether duvets are included. You can bring your own sleeping bag or hire duvets from NAUPAR for € 16,00 per person (please book at least two weeks in advance). Also you have the possibility to rent towels for € 4,00 per piece.
Luggage.
Be practical in your choice as cupboard space is limited on board. It is advisable to bring your luggage in foldable bags. If you are not making use of the catering package, remember to bring towels, dishcloths, washing up cloths, garbage bags, washing and cleaning detergents, toilet paper and coffee filters, etc. (not applicable to daytrips and luxury multi-day trips). Before you leave, please check that you have left no luggage on board.
Clothing.
When packing clothing, always be prepared for changing weather conditions. You may wish to bring the following:
- Warm clothing
- Waterproof clothing
- Swimwear
- Anti-slip shoes (for example, trainers)
Cleaning.
Only applicable to multi-day excursions
If cleaning charges are not included in the hire (see the tab specifications) and you are not purchasing catering, you may opt to do the cleaning yourself, or to pay for cleaning services. Cleaning charges are payable on board to the captain, or via supplementary billing for services if you are also paying for catering. There is a supplement of €20 for cleaning on Saturdays and Sundays.
Seasickness.
There is no need to be concerned if you suffer from seasickness. Our ships are stable on the water and quite resistant to swells on the IJsselmeer and Wadden Sea, certainly in comparison to sports yachts. Besides, our ships have plenty of space on deck to take a walk and get some air. If you become seasick easily, ensure you eat and sleep well, that will make you less sensitive. If necessary, you can purchase tablets at a pharmacy.
Lifejackets.
There are sufficient life jackets on board for all passengers. Regarding the provision of life jackets for children, please inform us in advance if there will be children under 12 years of age in the party.
Pets.
Pets are not permitted aboard the ships (unless otherwise indicated in the description of the ship).
