Palingsoundmuseum
Palingsound (‘eelsound’) is a typical Dutch pop music style from Volendam. The name palingsound is a reference to the eel fishery and one of the former bands from Volendam. Disc jockey Joost den Draaijer defined the word as first. The Palingsoundmuseum dedicates its collection to the history of music of the palingsound.

In the Palingsoundmuseum you will find an overview of 100 years music history of Volendam. The museum pays a lot of attention to the musical families, bands, singers and singers, but also to the characteristic sound. All known artists from Volendam appear in the museum.
