IJsselmeer and Markerwaard.
Once the sails are set, the ship has cast off, and everyone is seated comfortable, a course will be set for the unspoilt nature of the IJsselmeer. The IJsselmeer, which is a freshwater sea, forms Holland’s wet heart. This unique scenic area is very well-suited for a sailing trip and the beautiful villages around the IJsselmeer offer an ideal mixture of cosiness and a bustling nightlife. The numerous harbours of departure around the IJsselmeer enable you to embark as soon as possible!
Kop van Overijssel.
The Kop van Overijssel (lit. Head of Overijssel) is one of the most beautiful areas to go to for a sailing trip when you enjoy a peaceful and quite setting. With its large lakes, channels, and peat streams, you will sail the largest fenland of Western Europe. It is the land of the ‘kraggen’ (small, floating reed islands), and quaking bog (fen floating on the water). It is a beautiful area with small lakes and channels, but also the expansive, hilly woodland near Steenwijk.
Wadden Sea.
Do you prefer a trip on the Dutch Wadden, with its seals and tumblers and strikingly beautiful lighthouses? You will enjoy the unspoilt nature and the authentic atmosphere of Holland Waterland: A firm breeze bellying the sails, a salty skin, and a view on the dunes and the sandbanks, and standing clear from the water.
Frisian lakes.
The Fluessen, the Slotermeer, the Sneekermeer, and the straight channels; The area of the Frisian lakes is extremely varied. You will sail through towns in which time seems to have stood still. Three out of the eleven Frisian cities are located in the Frisian lake area. Frisians attach great value to their traditions and historical legacy and these have, consequently, been preserved very well. With its fairs, music festivals, sailing competitions, and other events, throughout the year plenty of amusement is provided in this area.
Around Zeeland.
Nature lovers who also want to see the sun go sailing in Zeeland. This Dutch province has the largest number of sun hours in the Netherlands. In addition, it features boasts beautiful scenery and clean salty water. On quiet moments you may even see seals and porpoises. Along the waters of Zeeland and South Holland you will find beautiful towns such as Veere, Zierikzee, Middelburg, Willemstad and Hellevoetsluis.
