The sturdy 'Balder' was built in 1899 at the De Goede ship-building yard in Zwartsluis. After many cargo trips to the Baltic Sea, it started serving a totally new purpose some 20 years ago: first as a houseboat, then as a sailing passenger boat. Over the years, everything has been done on the upper deck of the boat to maintain it in its original state. This tjalk is still rigged in the original style, with real cotton sails. The old-fashioned, cosy lounge on the lower deck is combined with modern comfort in the galley and the cabins. The many jibs make active sailing possible. Paul, who grew up in an active Frisian sailing family, knows lots of unique spots in the sailing area. Stella exchanged her career as a psychiatric ergo-therapist for a life on the water. Together they will be happy to teach you all about sailing. They'll do everything they can to make the impossible possible together with you. Shipper:
