Already since its construction in 1917, the sturdy two-masted clipper 'Dy Abt fan Starum' has been a well-known presence in the sailing world. The ship first served as a sailing freighter and was bought by the current owner, Sietze Dijkstra, in 1972. With his love for historic ships, he converted it into a classic ship with comfortable accommodations. The rigging is considered impressive by many, and is constructed in such a way that it offers work to many hands. If necessary, the ship can also be sailed by a smaller number of people. The lower deck houses a spacious lounge with an open kitchen. The ship also offers extensive privacy, which makes 'Dy Abt fan Starum' very suitable for sailing trips with family and friends. The authenticity of the ship and wide experience of the crew will make your stay a very special one.

Its possible for trips to be extended. Contact us for a tailored quote.

Alternative departure harbour
Its also possible to use a departure harbour other than the base harbours. If you do, you should take into account the vessel?s crossing time, which will either be charged for or form part of your trip itinerary. That charge is €60 per hour for vessels being prepared for trips of more than one day.

Bedding and towels
Trips of more than one day always include the provision of sheets, pillows and pillow cases. Towels can be hired on board for €4 each. You can arrange this with us up to three weeks before departure.

Cleaning
If the cleaning of the vessel after the trip is not included in the rental price (see specifications menu), you can choose to carry out the cleaning yourself or pay to have it done. You can pay the captain on board, or have it added it to the charge for services if you are paying for catering. Cleaning on Saturdays and Sundays is subject to a €20 supplement.
