Welcome aboard the cosy sailing cutter Steady! Will you and your companions make a wonderful day trip on Lake IJssel, or would you prefer the beautiful Wadden Islands? The ship offers you ample opportunity to relax or to get plenty of action while you enjoy your sailing trip.

Tasting the good life for one day.

The skipper, his shipmate (and wife) and their two little dogs will be glad to welcome you aboard. After a cup of coffee or tea with pastry the sails will be hoisted and your day trip on Lake IJssel begins. The course is for you to determine! During the trip you can enjoy the fresh air on deck, and if you want you can actively assist in sailing the ship. A copious lunch is part of the programme and back in the harbour the day is closed off with a drink and snacks. Is your mouth already watering?

Plenty of warmth and comfort.
Below decks is a main saloon with bar and galley and a rear saloon with a modest ship's library. The galley has two cookers: a meths burner and a large diesel oil cooker, which doubles as a room heater on very cold days. When it is not so cold, the heater in the main saloon provides sufficient warmth and comfort.

Staying the night on board the Steady.
For day trips there is room for up to twelve persons. For the multi-day trips the Steady offers sleeping accommodation to a maximum of 8 persons. The four two-person cabins have bunk beds.

History.
The Steady used to sail under the name of Johanna Hendrika. The steel sailing cutter was built in Gdansk, Poland and was used as a passenger ship for sea sailing trips. In 1999 the ship even sailed the Baltic Sea. In 2005 she came to the Netherlands, where she sailed Lake Alkmaar and the Wadden Sea until 2007. In 2010 the cutter received new owners, and Hoorn became the new home harbour. After an extensive refurbishment the Johanna Hendrika was rechristened the Steady.
