The 'Toekomst' is the biggest ever 'tjalk' to be built in the Province of Friesland. She was put into service in 2001 and made her maiden voyage in the spring of 2002. The 'Toekomst' (future) of skipper/owner Peter Velthuis is a brand new ship. She was designed with the classic design of the 'zeetjalk' in mind and the stringent demands of modern-day users. This is a ship to be reckoned with ideal for true sailsmen as well as armchair enthusiasts keen to build a future with their business contacts. Four-hour rate The four-hour rate is not valid from 11 April 2011 to 10 July 2011, and from 23 August 2011 to 16 October 2011. On Fridays and Saturdays during those periods, a minimum eight-hour rate will apply.
