A lovely Frisian tjalk built in 1904, with an authentic superstructure and lovely, round lines that harmonise with its crooked gaff. Add to that the spacious sailing surface, and you have a fast and sporty ship with style. The lower deck is warm, charming and practical. On deck the comfortable cockpit and wide gangways make the ship safe and child-friendly.

Skipper Jelmer Meinsma is happy to give instructions for navigating on the Wad and other waters. Once behind the rudder, both the experienced sea dog and the beginning sailor will notice, to their surprise, how easily and especially how lightly the ship can be manoeuvred. The guests' wishes come first and foremost when plotting the course and organising other activities.

A barbecue and campfire on an uninhabited island? Anchoring and swimming in an idyllic outlying lake. It's up to you! A trip on the 'Vertrouwen' will guarantee an unforgettable experience, for both young and old.

Extending your trip
Its possible for trips to be extended. Contact us for a tailored quote.

Alternative departure harbour
Its also possible to use a departure harbour other than the base harbours. If you do, you should take into account the vessel?s crossing time, which will either be charged for or form part of your trip itinerary. That charge is €60 per hour for vessels being prepared for trips of more than one day.

Bedding and towels
Trips of more than one day always include the provision of sheets, pillows and pillow cases. Towels can be hired on board for €4 each. You can arrange this with us up to three weeks before departure.

Cleaning
If the cleaning of the vessel after the trip is not included in the rental price (see specifications menu), you can choose to carry out the cleaning yourself or pay to have it done. You can pay the captain on board, or have it added it to the charge for services if you are paying for catering. Cleaning on Saturdays and Sundays is subject to a €20 supplement.
