Wedding on the IJsselmeer.
Getting married, on the middle of the Ijsselmeer: That is only possible with NAUPAR. All of NAUPAR’s ships are official wedding locations. That means that you will not marry on the address Hoofdstraat 12, but on the coordinates 54° 52" 12'! That is not only quite something different, but it also offers a nice theme to use throughout this special day.
Wedding in the Netherlands.
To register for marriage, the law requires that one of the partners is a Dutch citizen or holds a valid residence permit to stay in the Netherlands. You must register (ondertouw) at least two weeks before the planned wedding day at the municipal registration office.
Special ‘I do’.
In cooperation with NAUPAR, your dreams will come true. Indeed, it is something special to say ‘I do’ to one another on board of a stately, traditional sailing ship in a small-scale and, therefore, intimate setting, together with those people you hold dear. You may do so while sailing, but you can also ask the skipper to drop the anchor on a special location.
Many possibilities.
You can get married almost everywhere on the Ijsselmeer: From Lelystad to Enkhuizen. You can embark the ship in one of our home ports, such as Kampen, Makkum, Monnickendam, Lelystad, or Hoorn. Having your reception and party on board as well, will form an original surprise for your guests.
Enjoying the day in style.
Naturally, everything will be arranged for you in style. An excellent catering with, among others, snacks, drinks, and a beautiful wedding cake and a lovely dinner for your guests. We can also arrange the entertainment for you. Would you like to have an acoustic trio, a hip deejay, or a swinging live band to add lustre to your party during the evening? We can arrange it all. With over 35 years of experience, your most beautiful day will be in safe hands with NAUPAR.
Small-scale and intimate.
You can, of course, spare no expenses and turn your wedding party into a spectacular celebration, but a small-scale and intimate wedding is very personal. Together with a small group of family members and closest friends, you can get married on board of a cosy and intimate ship. Your day will be truly ‘yours’ and there will be plenty of time to enjoy each other’s and your guests’ company.
A wedding weekend.
You can also turn your wedding day into a wedding weekend. Many of our ships offer an excellent accommodation to spend the night for up to even 40 persons. What to think of a delicious champagne breakfast on deck the following morning, together with your guests. A lovely end to a wonderful weekend!

The 'Toekomst' (future) of skipper/owner Peter Velthuis is a brand new ship. She was designed with the classic design of the 'zeetjalk' in mind and the stringent demands of modern-day users. This is a ship to be reckoned with ideal for true sailsmen as well as armchair enthusiasts keen to build a future with their business contacts. Ideal for treating long-standing colleagues or fellow club founders, or a loved one who deserves to be put in the limelight. Or simply for a day out.
On the ‘Selene’ you will experience the traditional sailing of times gone by combined with modern-day luxury. A unique feature are the large portholes which are situated just ten centimetres above the water line. This means that when you are sitting inside you can admire wonderful views over the water and during the actual sailing you can sometimes catch a glimpse of what it is like under water. As sturdy and robust as the ‘Selene’ is on the outside, the inside is beautiful, natural and delicate. It has been designed in the style of a modern beach and lounge club, with a light-coloured oak floor and magnificent interior carpentry. The ambiance is relaxed and modern, yet still retains the charm of the ship’s past life. From barbecueing to dining and from meeting to relaxing. Thanks to the ship’s flexible layout, nothing is impossible. Skipper Edith will ensure that your day runs smoothly. This spontaneous and creative hostess with an eye for detail makes every day on the ‘Selene’ a unique experience. It comes as no surprise then that Edith has enjoyed a 15-year love affair with her ship!
Experienced sailors get very enthusiastic about the Carpe Diem. The decorative features, teak decks and high rigging all combine to make the Carpe Diem look truly elegant. The 'LE 7' was completely rebuilt and made its maiden voyage in 2004. The 'LE 7', which we affectionately call 'Brandende Liefde' or Burning Passion is a lemsteraak of the fishing vessel type. It was originally designed to winch nets closer towards the fishermen and to take the fish, still alive, to harbour. Fresher than fresh. And: the faster the better. A century later sailors rediscovered these sturdy and refined ships, as elegant and as fast as any designed for racing. They are the sapphires of the sea. Rounded bows, curved bulkheads. The Dutch lemsteraak is not just beautiful but has also superb seagoing qualities. Its sunken lower open deck provides stability in choppy weather, and is the scene for a relaxing drink. But go amidships and our sailing traditions of hospitality and friendliness make sure you have good time. NAUPAR offers a variety of lemsteraak ships, all of which are identical from a nautical point of view. Unique in the annals of Dutch shipbuilding, it means these boats are perfect for competitions. Your race could not be fairer: win or lose, it is up to you. Get the teams thinking and pulling together. Who will be the first across the finishing line?
This beautifully designed and extremely fast 'lemsteraak' was used by Dutch fishermen around 1900. The 'LE 196' was fully converted in 2000 and is especially suitable for one-day charter trips. Her perfect sailing characteristics and manoeuvrability make the 'LE 196 - Grote Jager' ideal for sailing competitions, as well as adventurous trips across the IJsselmeer. Guests are more than welcome to step behind the helm. The spacious cockpit offers plenty of room, guaranteeing a genuine 'hands-on' sailing experience. The cockpit protects passengers against heavy winds and is the ideal place to have lunch. The 'LE196' is the ship to be for all your team building exercises and festive occasions!
The 'Mother Goose' was built in 1908. She was originally commissioned by the Royal Netherlands Navy to place buoys in the Zuiderzee. Until the end of October 2006 the 'Mother Goose' was in the safe hands of the Jonk family. At the beginning of November 2006 the family moved to Curaçao for a new challenge. Niels Mulder has taken over at the helm of the ship.
Niels has sailed since his early youth on the Ijsselmeer and is a sailing-man through and through. Aboard this cosy ship, hospitality and conviviality reign supreme. The spacious quarterdeck has a horse-shoe bench providing adequate seating for guests to enjoy their trip in comfort. The ship even boasts an excellent barbecue facility! When the weather conditions are less than favourable, the wheelhouse provides a safe shelter and offers stunning views across the water.
The salon is the ideal venue for festive occasions such as stag nights and hen parties. Brides and grooms-to-be are more than welcome aboard the 'Mother Goose'. A successful trip is guaranteed!
