The Rode Swan is a spacious clipper that acts as a passenger ship since 1994. Before that time it was a cargo ship over the Rhine. Thanks to its streamlined hull, the Mare also sails easily against the flows, which now comes in handy in the various sailing competitions that the ship joins. In terms of space, functionality and comfort, nothing will come short to you on boar. It will be pure enjoyment on the Rode Swan!

Safe and lots of space

On board of the Rode Swan, one thing is certain in any case: you will be safe here! The ship has an extra high railing, making it a childproof ship. There is also plenty of space, aswell on deck as in the cosy cabin. And that's fine, because then you have enough possibilties to enjoy your stay on the water.

Thought about everything

The Rode Swan is known for its attractive salon, equipped with all amenities and comfort. Is it cold outside? Then the central heating boiler turns on and you can enjoy a comfortable temperature in the salon. They thought about everything. Also the ship’s kitchen is fully equipped; Here, you are able to cook the most delicious meals. Once you are full and the night falls, you can crawl directly in your own cabin. Thanks to the reading light you can read a few pages from your favorite book, to make yourself fall asleep with the waves. Goodnight!

Where it all began

The history of the Rode Swan goes way back. This clipper was built in Rotterdam in 1880, then loaded to the Rhine. Also against the flows. Hence, that is why the Rode Swan is a beautiful streamlined hull, which makes her very fast! Moreover the ship originally was called different: Adriane Dirkje (1921). In 1955 Adriane was renamed to Fredrick after a hefty restoration. It ' only ' began sailing as a passenger ship under the name Mare Marieke in 1994 and now sails as Rode Swan.
