Volharding

Beeing cozy on the water?

On board of the Volharding there is space for every group! Enjoy the view from the deck, marvel at the sailing technique and cook in a cozy atmosphere. Enjoyment is a top priority at this tjalk!

Enjoy on the spacious, luxury deck

Relax on the large and luxurious deck of the Volharding. On the extremely comfortable seating you will see the magnificent scenery of the sea. On the deck, surrounded by water, the birds and your social circle, come to rest in any case. Good to know: the Volharding offers a high railing and is therefore particularly safe and child-friendly.

There's always something going on below deck

In the common room you will find, among other things, a central heating, but also a TV with digital channels, connectivity for your laptop and an internet connection. Also available are sanitary facilities and a well-equipped kitchen (including beer dispenser). In short: the Volhardig impresses with a variety of modern equipment.

Let it lull you to sleep

On board of the Volharding you can of course also be accommodated. You will find several cabins with one or two person beds, which are 1.20 m wide. Two additional beds are located in the lounge - so everyone has a place.

From 1902 until now

The Volharding was built in 1902 in Vierverlaten. The tjalk was then called 'Twee Gezusters'. Until 1927 she was on the water as a cargo ship in Friesland and Groningen. The next 20 years are not clearly assignable, it is thought that the ship served as a storage location for fishing supplies. From 1947 the Volharding was used as a living ship in Muiden for about 30 years. In 1980, it was eventually converted to a charter ship and shining in new splendor.  At the beginning of the 80s she was crowned best restored ship. Even today, hands are regularly put on to keep the Volharding in good condition.
