On the luxury lounge charter Avontuur you can get a breath of fresh air and relax while sailing with the family, a group of friends or colleagues on the Wadden Sea, Frisian lakes or the IJsselmeer and Markermeer. The modern and cosy interior, stylish double cabins and extensive facilities will soon make you feel at home and you will not even realise you are on board a ship.
The Avontuur is the ideal ship for a nice day trip, weekend away, cosy midweek or (short) holiday.
While sailing, you can relax and chat on the cosy teak deck, while enjoying the view over the water and the typical Dutch skies. From the safe cockpit, you can watch the sailing at close quarters and even give the crew a hand.
Below deck, the recently renovated lounge-style saloon exudes a relaxed atmosphere. The sturdy wooden elements, plenty of daylight, fresh colours and the cooking island in the spacious well-equipped kitchen offer a cosy stay, where you can relax with your company and chat until the late hours.
On board the clipper Avontuur you can also take a sailing trip of several days. The comfortable double cabins are equipped with running water, heating in winter and ventilation during the summer. In addition, each cabin has a socket and USB charging points, the beds come standard with duvet, bottom sheet and pillowcase and a towel set is standard.
In summer, the base port of this two-master is Harlingen, an ideal departure port for the Wadden Sea. In consultation, you can also depart from all other places on the IJsselmeer/Markermeer. From Monnickendam, for example, you can take a beautiful day trip to Marken, Volendam, Edam or Hoorn. Or start a multi-day sailing trip from Hoorn, Enkhuizen, Lelystad, Muiden or Amsterdam.
Are you looking for a special destination or do you want something different? This contemporary clipper is always up for an adventure and the skipper knows places you have never been or would not normally visit.
The clipper Avontuur was built in 1911 as a sailing cargo ship by the firm Boot in Leiden. The fast clipper transported beets and potatoes from Friesland to South Holland. In 1980, she was converted into a charter vessel and with her 350 m2 sail area, the slender ship manages to achieve high speeds.
