NAUPAR introduces: four new captains!

Lelystad, 6 July 2017 – They"ve got the wind in their sails at NAUPAR! We are once again proud to introduce you to yet another new captain. Not just one, in fact, but four new captains! Since this season, the Actia, Tsjerk Hiddes, Eenhoorn and Succes have been sailing with new, enthusiastic and highly experienced captains. Here you can read about how these new captains feel about their boats, their favourite sailing destinations and how they ended up on the water.

Stephan Heyligers, 37, sails the Actia

Stephan Heyligers was officially appointed captain of the Actia this season. "What"s great about the Actia is that you can sail "actively", i.e. everything is done manually,” says Stephan. "The day room also has outside views and there are plenty of seats and sanitary facilities on board. And you can berth in the mud on the Wad!

New captain of the Tsjerk Hiddes: Mark Visscher, 28

Mark Visscher took over as captain of the Tsjerk Hiddes this March. "What I really enjoy about being captain, is all the extra responsibility and possibility to plan my own route,” explains Mark. "I"m now also the direct contact for guests and help them with all their needs and questions. There is truly something for everyone on board the Tsjerk Hiddes.”

Jan Willem Zandstra, 56, and the Eenhoorn

This season, Jan Willem began captaining the Eenhoorn, the boat he also calls home. "I have lots of experience with other boats and have been sailing since I was 7," says Jan Willem. "The Eenhoorn is an extremely comfortable vessel with plenty of sanitary facilities. It has 13 double occupancy sleeping cabins and a toilet and shower between every two cabins. What more could you ask for?”

A captain of many years, but for the first time on the Succes: Jan Petersen, 35

This season is Jan Petersen"s fourth as captain. "But the Succes is new for me,” says Jan. "Before I became captain, I spent three years on the Soeverein as a sailor, followed by one year as captain of the Inspiratie. The Succes is a wonderful sailing ship with a luxury interior.”
