The Lemmer beach is located in a U-shaped bay on the IJsselmeer and you can find almost no high waves there, this makes the beach very child friendly. Good to know: On the big parking lot right behind the beach, the Plattedijk, you can park your car for free!
Due to the sloping bottom of the water, the Lemmer beach is also ideal for small children. And not only children, dogs are allowed here too! Dogs are allowed without leash all year long on the western part of the beach, and between 1 October and 30 April they are able to walk free over the entire width of the beach. Only during the summer months the dog fun is limited.
If you visit the Lemmer beach in August, you can find the annual GLemmer. This four-day festival transforms the beach into a nationally known pop-up theater. From famous artists to many foodtrucks: The event is known as the coziest one of Lemmer! The three-day Lemmer Ahoy is also very known: The organization of this sailing event in the bay of Lemmer is in the hands of Watersportvereniging de Zevenwolden.
