The port of West-Terschelling can be seen from afar by its distinctive lighthouse 'De Brandaris'. West-Terschelling is the largest village on the island of Terschelling, which is simply called 'West' by the inhabitants. The harbor is located in a bay formed by nature. It is here due to the many boats that come in and out, a cozy bustle. Most boats carry tourists, but Terschelling also has its own small fishing fleet.
